Iontas Sells 2000 Seats of Activity Focus and Event Focus Software to London-based University

Austin, Texas, and Letterkenny, Ireland – September 18, 2007

Software plays an ever-increasingly important role in the teaching of students and in the administration of an education facility. Innovative educators are always on the lookout for ways to improve the operation of their school and their ability to teach. A large European London-based University higher education yes facility recently proved their technological acumen by purchasing 2000 seats of Iontas’s Activity Focus and Event Focus software.

Activity Focus (formerly called Desktop Focus) and Event Focus (formerly called App Alert Focus), two of the three modules in Iontas’s Focus software suite, help companies understand and monitor how software is used throughout their organizations. Activity Focus gathers comprehensive application usage information directly from the operating system of every PC, including details such as time spent on particular tasks, applications used, processes and navigational paths followed, buttons clicked, and even values entered by users or returned by the software. Event Focus detects the occurrence of specific software events and triggers actions based on these events. Event Focus also triggers third-party applications to take actions, based on real-time user activities such as accessing a certain document, sending an email, or entering a particular value… even when the value is specific text within an email.

“Education facilities can benefit greatly from the insight provided by the Focus software suite,” commented Iontas CEO Joe Stockton. “Using the information provided by Focus, educators can understand when students are struggling with software or concepts and require further instruction.”

Focus also provides a complete audit trail of user activity and can be used to prove compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. As well, the software can detect and inform administrators about the use of inappropriate applications such as hacking tools or music software. Finally, Focus helps organizations ensure compliance with software licensing policies and helps them determine if more licenses of a particular application are required.

Iontas’s sales are growing rapidly around the world as companies, universities, and other organizations discover how Focus helps them work better by working smarter.
